CODE OF CONDUCT

Elk Brewing is committed to a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.  Elk Brewing believes every employee has the right to work in a professional atmosphere that promotes equal employment opportunities and that is free of unlawful discrimination, including unlawful harassment and retaliation.  Elk Brewing expects that all relationships in the workplace will be professional, business-like and free of bias, prejudice, harassment, and retaliation.  

 

Elk Brewing will not accept or tolerate any discrimination or different treatment of or among employees, clients, or suppliers based upon the following:  race, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, national origin, disability, military service, the seeking of workers’ compensation benefits or any other category protected by law.

 

 

Sexual Harassment: 

 

Employee conduct that results in the harassment of other employees on the basis of sex is illegal and is not acceptable to Elk Brewing.  Sexual harassment includes, but is not necessarily limited to:

 

  • Verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature 

  • Unwelcome sexual advances

  • Request for sexual favors 

  • Verbal comments including rumors, vulgar gestures, or physical actions of a sexual nature, which are deliberate and/or repeated.

  • Touching, pinching, and patting another person, forcing another to look at sexually explicit pictures or to listen to sexually explicit jokes or comments of a sexual nature.

  • Submission to such conduct is made either as an expressed or implied term of condition of employment.

  • Submission to or rejection of such conduct is used as the basis for employment related decisions such as hiring, promotion, demotion, performance appraisals, wage adjustments, discipline, work assignments, etc., or such conduct creates an offensive, intimidating or hostile environment such that it is unreasonable and interferes with work performance.  

 

If you are witness to, or subjected to, any form of unlawful harassment, you should report such conduct to your manager and/or management members to whom you feel comfortable reporting such conduct.  All claims will be investigated as confidentially as possible and appropriate corrective action taken, including termination if warranted.  

 

Every employee is obligated to cooperate in an investigation, and understand it is a violation of company policy to retaliate against or penalize the employee asserting a valid claim.  This policy applies to all employees while on duty, whether on or off Company property, and always while on Company property.
